God’s Will

Today’s topic is inspired by my devotional of this morning and I have titled it ‘God’s Will’.

When we pray we often ask God for a favor, could be a job, life partner, successful business etc. sometimes it feels like God is silent, other times he gives us more than one option to choose from, which can end up being very confusing since we just want the direct answer/solution, lol..

So imagine for instance as you are praying for a job in this difficult time in Nigeria, you suddenly get 3 job offers, the onus now lies on you to decide which is God’s Will for you and which job will take you further to attaining your career goals...hmmmm!!

Also, in the case of a life partner, imagine you just start meeting different people who appear serious minded and are ready to take the bold step with you, again you are placed in a dicey situation of who ‘Mr’ or ‘Mrs’ right is as the case maybe.. Don’t forget that your prayer has been answered, it’s now left for you to decipher what God’s Will for you is!!

Where and how do you begin to choose? Do you run back to God and be more specific this time like God show me a sign and tell which exactly is mine? lol...

I guess different people have their own method of making a choice.  Whatever route you choose to follow to make a decision, remember that God cares very much about your decision.

Also, when we are faced with decisions of this nature,  we can follow the pattern of ‘Proverbs 3:5–6: trust God, lean on more than just our own understanding, and acknowledge Him as we choose’.

How was day today? Are you faced with any tough decision making? How do you or did you finally arrive at a decision?

Another day to excel and be greatπŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸ™πŸ½

I want to write about aggression today. This lagos ‘stressful life’, infact Nigeria as a whole, lol, can be stressful to live in and sometimes people get unnecessarily aggressive.

According to Wiki: Aggression is overt, often harmful, social interaction with the intention of inflicting damage or other unpleasantness upon another individual. It may occur either in retaliation or without provocation. Hmmmm!!! Common causes of aggression in our society today are: stress, poverty drug abuse, , unemployment, and lack of basic amenities etc

In my daily activities I sometimes come across aggressive people and I just whisper to my self ‘what is this ones problem’. Aggression doesn’t always have to be physical, it can be verbal/non physical as well. People tend to use the non physical aggression because it is more subtle! They believe or feel that they can be aggressive without appearing to others to be aggressing. Example of this type of aggression include; Gossiping, Spreading rumors, Turning people against each other and Dismissing the opinions of others. I think the last example, ‘’Dismissing the opinions of others’’ is the most common. Some people don’t give a hoot about what you have to say, they just want to impose their own opinion on you and when it seems you are not buying into it, it becomes a problem and they just flip!

This is not a social psychology lecture, lol, but there’s a lot to talk about aggression and aggressive people. I think people should learn to take things easy, we don’t always get what we want and that’s normal, instead of taking out our frustration on others why not take a chill pill, relax and strategize on the way forward .....

If you ever come across an aggressive person, be guided and stay calm, allow him/her finish ‘ranting’ before you say a word or two. No need to get angry and exchange words, if possible take some steps  back to avoid any fist blows.

Anyways, how was your day? And any thoughts or comments on Aggression?

Tuesday, January 16, 2018

It was a beautiful day in Lagos today with the usual traffic and motorists acting ‘crazy’ like the world was ending today, lol! Thank God I don’t have to drive myself.

My day went well, from home to school drop off then to work. Work was good, agreement, opinions and what have you (life of an awesome solicitor πŸ˜πŸ™ŒπŸ½)...... then back home to meet my lovely family. Oh errrrm, before I forget, when I got back from work, the first thing my daughter told me was ‘Mum look I got a super sticker (which she had on her forehead) cus I wrote numbers 1-100, yaaay... My teacher gave me and Tola cus only both of us wrote our numbers complete’ lol (she’s 3 years old). My response: oh wow, that’s great, you are a champion and daddy and I are so proud of you. Go girl, with a high 10’.. She’s such an adorable angel!!!

So tell me, how did your day go? Any events, annoying colleague drama or strict boss wahala, hahaha!
